H.E. Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo receives ‘Sard Al Thahab’ Award

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan honoured the winners of the third edition of the Sard Al Dhahab Award at a ceremony held at Al Dhafra Fort and organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, part of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. The event celebrated leading figures in oral and visual storytelling, recognising storytellers, narrators and creatives, and highlighting the award’s growing role in preserving and revitalising Emirati and Arab heritage, while reinforcing the place of storytelling within the collective cultural memory. 

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Hamdan bin Zayed presented H.E. Huda Alkhamis-Kanoo, Founder of Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) and Founder and Artistic Director of Abu Dhabi Festival, with the 2025 Sard Al Thahab Award in the Emirati Narrative category, in recognition of her contributions as a leading cultural figure. Through the initiatives of ADMAF, she has played a key role in shaping a contemporary cultural and musical narrative that reflects the spirit of the United Arab Emirates. 

With its growing international presence, the Sard Al Thahab Award continues to play a vital role in safeguarding Arab narrative traditions, encouraging innovative storytelling and strengthening the global presence of Emirati and Arab cultural heritage.
