Mohamed Al Mazrouei

Biography Mohamed Al Mazrouei studied ancient languages and philosophy at college but didn’t complete his education. He moved to Abu Dhabi in 1986 where he worked for The Cultural Foundation and established himself as a prominent artist, writer and photographer as well as manager of the Emirates Writers’ Union. He has written many books of short stories and poems. His art – painting in a signature Expressionist style – allows the viewer to enter the world of his vast imagination. He is interested in figures and colour as well as attempting to achieve a balance. Al Mazrouei has held several solo exhibitions in the Middle East and has participated in many group exhibitions both locally and abroad. Exhibitions include ‘Maidens of Fair’, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (2012); ‘MinD/ Body’, DUCTAC’s Gallery of Light, Dubai (2013); and most recently ‘Noah’s Ark’, the Emirates Fine Arts Society 34th Annual Exhibition in Sharjah (2016).
